Poultney Downtown Revitalization Committee (PDRC) is seeking estimates from both commercial landscapers and skilled home gardeners to tend the perennial planting beds that abut sidewalks in the mowed areas along both sides of Poultney’s Main Street, between Beaman/Grove Streets at the East end and College Street at the West end, and Slate Quarry Park.
This Scope of Work has been prepared to help interested parties to prepare estimates of the labor and materials costs they will incur to provide the care we seek for these plantings. We have organized the work we seek done by season:
Planting Locations on Main Street
South Side
- Main and Grove Streets
- Town Hall lawn
- Near old bank Building
- Main and College Streets
North Side
- Main and Beaman Streets
- Slate Quarry Park
- York Street intersection
- Main and College Streets
Note: PDRC does not maintain the plantings in front of the Post Office
Spring 2025
- Weed and cultivate soil around plants
- Remove dead or decayed leaves, stems, etc.
- Acquire and apply mulch the beds
- Edge the beds
- Prune broken stems and branches
- Divide/relocate overgrown plants
Summer 2025
- Maintain good appearance of beds
- Repair any minor damage that may occur
Fall 2025
- Cut back and remove dead foliage
Winter 2025
- None
Interested parties should send a bid that includes a description of their experience or qualifications along with a written estimate specifying both total labor and materials costs for 2025 by March 15, 2025. Estimates can be sent to: projects@poultneydowntown.com
The successful party will be required to provide evidence of liability insurance as required of all contractors performing work on municipal property.
