Poultney’s 435rd Maple Festival is happening\, and what better way to experience it than trudging up snow covered dirt roads and hanging out in steaming sugar shacks. Watch sap boil down while you drip mud. Nosh on fried dough drizzled in maple madness. Secretly quaff bourbon out of a flask and wash it down with a shot of Vermont’s finest. The Fifth Season Ride and Race features two options: A ridiculous race (secret bonus points for collecting maple syrup and completing weird tasks) and a climby\, mellow paced ride. What’s new for 2025?? Breakfast upgrade! Lunch upgrade! Warm post ride party!\n\nThis year gnosh freshly made donuts from Whitney at the Poultney Pub (a taste of the donut and espresso pop up that will be coming to Analog this spring) and Little Seed Pour Over Coffee (roasted just for us!) down at ye ole sugar shack. Donuts and coffee included in the entry fee!\n\nThe ride traditionally finishes at the Analog Sugar House. It’s small\, cramped\, perfect for a party of say\, 15 folks. But sub-optimal for a larger party\, or getting warm\, or feeding a bunch of people. This year we’re going to have the riders AND racers finish at Analog’s retail space and workshop in downtown Poultney. There will be a catered lunch (included in the entry fee) provided by the Poultney Pub (Vegetarian and Meaty options) with an included beverage of you choice (IPA\, NA\, Hard Cider\, Hot Seasonal Cocktail\, etc) and of course the option to get additional beverages once you’ve drank that first one down. Post ride hangs\, shop tours\, records spinning\, beverages\, at Analog’s downtown HQ.

DESCRIPTION:Analog Cyles will be hosting their Annual X-mas Lights bike ride on Dec 12th with a rain date of the 19th. Ride will start at 6:30 at the East Poultney green\, head downtown at a very slow parade pace\, and be a total of around 3.5 or 4 miles. \nEvery year prizes are given for best adult bike and best kids bike decorations. Ride ends in downtown\, after party at the Pub starts at 7:30\, with Xmas themed records and (likely) some drink specials. All ages welcome to both.

It is based on the short story and booklet The Greatest Gift self-published by Philip Van Doren Stern in 1943\, which itself is loosely based on the 1843 Charles Dickens novella A Christmas Carol. \nThe film stars James Stewart as George Bailey\, a man who has given up his personal dreams in order to help others in his community and whose thoughts of suicide and existential crisis on Christmas Eve bring about the intervention of his guardian angel\, Clarence Odbody (Henry Travers). Clarence shows George all the lives he touched and what the world would be like if he did not exist. \nGeorge Bailey has so many problems he is thinking about ending it all – and it’s Christmas! As the angels discuss George\, we see his life in flashback. Santa will arrive in front of the library atop a Poultney Fire Dept. truck at 6:30pm. Children will march down Main St. to the Poultney Town Office where Santa will light the memory lights on the town tree. Library staff and volunteers will hand out free cookies and cocoa. Children will also have a chance to meet Santa Claus himself and let him know if they should be on the nice list!

DESCRIPTION:The Poultney Woman’s Club invites you to join in making the holiday more festive for local children and seniors by participating in the annual Tree of Giving project. By visiting the Giving Tree you can choose a name and have fun shopping for toys and/or needed items\, such as clothes and shoes. \nThis annual holiday campaign is sponsored by the Poultney Woman’s Club and supported by the area community. \nThe Tree of Giving will be at the Original Vermont Store\, in Poultney\, VT\, and will be available Monday\, Nov. 18th\, through Saturday\, Dec. 14th. Women’s Club members will be available from 12-4 p.m. on Mondays through Fridays\, and from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturdays. It will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and Sundays. \nIn the past\, the project have helped over 30 families with more than 80 children being served and approximately 55 seniors citizens. \nPlease stop in and enjoy making a child happy on Christmas morning.
