In 2023, the Poultney Downtown Revitalization Committee (PDRC) completed the Poultney Downtown Mural Initiative, enriching the town’s visual landscape and celebrating its unique heritage. This community-driven project installed a series of murals throughout downtown Poultney, transforming previously blank walls into vibrant artworks reflecting the town’s history and culture. By engaging local artists and residents, the initiative successfully fostered community pride, stimulated economic activity, and enhanced the aesthetic appeal of the downtown area.
This effort aligned with PDRC’s broader mission to revitalize Poultney’s downtown through creative placemaking and community engagement. The murals have since become catalysts for increased foot traffic, tourism, and local business support, contributing significantly to the town’s ongoing revitalization efforts.
The project was funded through a successful Patronicity crowdfunding campaign, thanks to generous contributions from community members who actively participated in this transformative initiative.
